Launching this fall, Jewish Peninsula is set to bring a new core program offering: School’s Out Camp.
Building upon the success of the Sarfan Early Childhood Center and Camp Chaverim, the J is expanding its options for our community. School’s Out Camp is a brand new full-day program at the J designed for families who need reliable, trusted care on select days when school isn't in session.
Starting this fall, School's Out Camp will run on select days throughout the year when local schools are closed. Designed for students in grades K–5, kids will spend the day playing games, making new memories and hanging out with friends. From art and athletics to silly science experiments and much more, every School's Out Camp day is packed with something for everyone.
“Not only is this so needed for working parents, but this will be a fantastic way for Camp Chaverim campers to keep up friendships and connections during the school year as well,” reflected Julia Downer, the coordinator of the new program.
Last November, Jewish Peninsula tested the concept behind School's Out Camp for Election Day, and the program sold out. Students spent a full day on campus exploring the outdoors with an educator from The Mariners' Museum, practiced imaginative kid-centered yoga, learned about gyotaku at Art Club and even took a lesson in line dancing. Parents gave rave reviews and students loved being back on campus to connect with new and old friends. That success made one thing clear: School's Out Camp was something our community was ready for.
Families are encouraged to sign up early for select dates throughout this upcoming school year: October 16, November 3, January 4, January 18, February 15 and April 12.
Registration can be found here.
The J is excited to continue to serve and engage with community families all year - because the only thing better than a day off, is one spent with friends.
