PJ Library Programming Blooms with Tu B'Shevat Joy

Our 2026 PJ Library programming at the J is off to a wonderful start with our Tu B'Shevat celebration, which perfectly captured the spirit of growth and renewal.

Families joined us for this special gathering, exploring the beauty of Tu B'Shevat through a specially selected PJ Library book that brought the holiday's themes of growth and renewal to life. PJ Library, which provides free Jewish children's books to families each month, offers the perfect opportunity to explore Jewish holidays and traditions through engaging storytelling.

After story time, our young gardeners got their hands dirty—literally! Each family planted blueberry seeds in little pots, creating a tangible connection to the holiday's celebration of trees and nature. There's something magical about watching children carefully place seeds in soil, knowing they're participating in a tradition that connects them to generations of families who have celebrated the earth's bounty.

The afternoon concluded with snacks and conversation, as parents and children alike shared their excitement about the books, the planting and the joy of coming together as a community. The intimate group created a warm, engaging atmosphere that left everyone looking forward to our next gathering.

Our PJ Library programming promises many more opportunities for families to explore Jewish culture, traditions and stories together throughout the year.
