Adath Jeshurun was established with the ideals and principles of traditional, Torah Judaism. It is with these principles that we will continue to grow and move forward. Traditional, however, does not mean boring. It is our mission to offer exciting and stimulating services, classes, and programs for the Newport News Jewish community and those visiting our congregation. Adath Jeshurun is for all Jews. It makes no difference what your level of observance is or how much you know about Judaism. AJ is an open, non-judgmental environment where Jews of all types can gather, pray, learn, and grow together. Rodef Sholom Temple

Rodef Sholom Temple is steeped in the rich traditions of Conservative Judaism offering a wide variety of spiritual, educational, cultural, and social programs. Temple Beth El
Denomination: Unaffiliated

Temple Beth El is the central gathering place in the Greater Williamsburg region for Jewish worship, learning, life cycle commemoration, and Jewish social events. As the only synagogue in the area, we have chosen to be unaffiliated in order to best serve the needs of our diverse community. We embrace Jews of different backgrounds and welcome interfaith families.  We are a participatory community. Each member is encouraged to make a contribution to our TBE Jewish life. Our energetic congregation continues to launch new social and community-building activities. Some of our members have formed adult and youth klezmer bands, a book club, and Hevra Kadisha. We sponsor the Virginia Peninsula Jewish Film Festival. Monthly, we have a Shabbat Kulanu service designed to be accessible and fun for all ages, a shorter Shabbat Zakein service for the elderly, and celebrate many Jewish holidays with religious and social events.

Temple Sinai is a warm and inclusive congregation and welcomes all guests, including Jews by heritage, Jews by choice, secular Jews, interfaith families, couples, singles, children, and LGBT+ members.
