Thank you for joining our briefing on the recent vandalism at our cemetery. Your presence and your concern is inspiring. This community shows up for one another, and that was evident at the briefing.
Here is a summary of where things stand:
What Happened:
24 grave markers were toppled. Some can be restored through a straightforward reset and reanchoring process; others sustained cracks and will require more involved repair. Importantly, no antisemitic graffiti was found at the cemetery. Law enforcement has identified the person responsible.
Who Was Affected:
Many of the impacted graves are in the oldest section of our cemetery, markers dating back nearly a century. These are the resting places of community founders and pioneers, and their memory deserves our full care and attention.
Reaching Families:
We have made every effort to contact families with known connections to the affected graves. However, there are a number of individuals for whom we have not yet been able to identify living descendants. We are asking for your help.
Below is a list of names associated with graves still in need of family contact. If you recognize any of these names, or know someone who might, please reach out to us directly. Every connection matters.
